Our top five ways to practice (self) LOVE Yummy Blog Maternity Shop
If you’ve just found out you’re expecting your first baba Valentine's Day can be rather exciting. Taking the time to celebrate your love and where you’re about to go next is a big deal! So you might have put on your little colour dress to show off your new curves, gone out for a romantic dinner and loved every minute of it. Or you might not have. Instead, your feet were swollen, you felt a bit sick and all you wanted to do was sleep. We get it. Pre-pregnancy we’re told about how we’ll glow and that our bodies are going to change into picture perfect life-creating vessels. But when unexpected parts of us do the big stretch so often we automatically criticise ourselves. At Yummy Mummy we truly do believe that all mama bodies are yummy (it’s exactly why we do what we do). So instead of spending nine months trying to fight the incredible ways you’re changing, take a moment to love yourself. Here are our top five ways to practice (self) LOVE ❤:
  1. SLEEEEP Go to bed at 7pm and still feel like a rockstar - you’re allowed.
  2. Treat yourself to a mani or massage If the waddle is starting to get you down, treat yourself to a pedicure. Or buy our Yummy Mummy Tummy Oil rich in Vitamin E which helps lessen stretch marks and nourishes your skin.
  3. Practice some gentle exercise A gentle walk outside or a dip in the pool is divine on a late summer afternoon. Just remember to check with your doctor before you make any lifestyle changes.
  4. Make friends with other moms to be Having an external support system is a great way to love yourself. There’s not a single parent in the whole world who has it all figured out and when you can sit down with someone who just gets it you can quickly turn a bad day into a good one.
  5. Spend some quality time with your partner A night in snuggled up on the couch just catching up can count as a date if you want it to. There’s no doubt that your life will change will baba arrives so savouring a moment with the person who is on this beautiful crazy adventure with you is the perfect way to be a little kinder to yourself.
